The Briink is a storytelling lab and incubator. Led by industry pioneers, the program empowers Black, female, and LGBTQ+ voices in film, TV, and audio drama. It merges storytelling, music, and movement to bring diverse stories to life.

Think Bri(Bridge)+Ink(Stories): this development lab brings diverse stories to life through collaboration, community, and partnerships and introduces two innovative programs: The Bridge Film Development Lab & The Ink+ Writer’s Room.

The Bridge Film Development Lab

This experimental film/audio development lab brings scriptwriting, musical, and movement artists together to transform visionary concepts into immersive, interdisciplinary sonic and cinematic experiences.

Our inaugural lab will workshop audio and film music for “Muxical Poetix”, an Afro-Surrealist multimedia project that blends spoken word theatre with live jazz-improve performance. Think Jamaican Dub-poetry with a Harlem Renaissance Sonic Archive integration.

The Ink+ Writer’s Room

A groundbreaking episodic development lab championing Black, female, and LGBTQ+ storytellers in thriller, Black comedy, and genre-blending TV and audio series, redefining the writer’s room as a fearless space for innovation and authentic storytelling.

The inaugural lab will introduce a female writer’s room with the anthology crime drama series, “They Girls They Silenced”, an LGBT Writer’s room for the black comedy series, “Come Again”, and an Afro-diasporic-writer’s room for the audio anthology political thriller series, “The Radicals”.
